\"The Red and the Black\" is the fourteenth episode of the fifth season of American science fiction television series The X-Files. It was written by series creator Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz, directed by Carter and aired in the United States on March 8, 1998, on the Fox network. The episode earned a Nielsen household rating of 12.0, being watched by 19.98 million people in its initial broadcast. The episode received moderately positive reviews from critics.
The Well-Manicured Man (John Neville) and other Syndicate Elders watch as their black oil vaccine is administered to Marita Covarrubias (Laurie Holden), which has yet to work. Later, The Well-Manicured Man meets with Alex Krycek (Nicholas Lea), who is being held captive aboard a Russian freighter. The Well-Manicured Man believes that the Russians possess a functional vaccine to the black oil, or else Krycek would not have infected the boy. With a working vaccine, resistance to the alien Colonists is possible.
Proof that when you watch \"The X-Files\", you never know what to expect. With its twisted sense of humor, shifting points-of-view leading to multiple interpretations, tie-in with the overall mythology arc, and Alex Trebek (!), this is one of the best episodes. As Mulder and Scully investigate an apparent abduction, they find that the stories from those involved get weirder and more contradictory the further they get. Scully's facial expressions are hilarious as she puts up with all the inane nonsense going on around her, the alien autopsy spoof is priceless, and don't forget the plug for \"Space: Above and Beyond\" by the UFO-geek that said \"I didn't spend all those years playing Dungeons and Dragons without learning anything about courage\" (that same week, Duchovny appeared as an A.I. on \"Space\"). With respect to the conspiracy arc, it seemed that some UFOs are piloted by the USAF.
- In honor of the 5 year anniversary of Johnny Craviotto's passing, we built kit #1000 from 600 year old Timeless Timber birch. Johnny pioneered the solid shell timeless timber drums back in the very early 2000s. Those were snare drums, no sets. Incredibly, Sam Bacco was able to find some 600 year old Timeless Timber birch and was able to craft kit #1000 from this wood. 9x13, 16x16, 16x18, 14x22, 6.5x14. Triple inlays. This set is a milestone in Craviotto history and will soon be in my IL store along side kit #1. We will do a video featuring both of these sets.
This episode was horrendous! Anybody that says it would be good is not a true fan of the show and have never really watched it or paid attention. People please do not leave positive comments if you are not a true fan of the show. Do not allow anyone to believe that this episode was even remotely close to being good. This should not be considered to be a TV show stop it immediately from happening.
Was very very upset to watch this episode. If this is to be a spin off they need a new name. I have no issues with series doing spin offs, but at least get a new name. As a spin off I would watch it but would have like the choice of watching it, not having it just show up for viewing.
(Suddenly, Enzo is shot through the shoulder. Blood starts gushing out of his wound. Yet another bullet heads his way. Wes and the travelers are standing outside the door, watching the scene unfold) 781b155fdc
